Dominique Masia is a Belmar, New Jersey- based animator and artist. She enjoys all aspects of the creative process and loves contributing to the art of storytelling. Her work focuses primarily on analyzing and satirizing antiquated views. She also enjoys illustrating the nature of human connectivity. She has studied art, animation, and design techniques in London, England, Wellington, New Zealand, and the United States.
As a mixed media artist, she focuses on combining aspects of traditional mediums within her animated works. In this modern age of technology, she feels that it is vital to keep the feeling of the human hand within art, even if it is created through digital means. The presence of the human hand gives a person the ability to comprehend each stroke, each moment of pressure, and each small moment of error. These moments define human artwork and the human experience which is the driving force of her art.
“Stardrift Spacelines” aims to explore and understand what past views on the future would be. “Stardrift Spacelines” attempts to illustrate a future that never was, while simultaneously highlighting the stereotypes society still continues to place upon women despite the future depicted never coming to be.
