Ori Krichly grew up in Ramla in central Israel to a middle-class family. After traveling the world for two years and working as a farmer in the Israeli desert, Ori decided he wanted to try working in art. He left his home and his friends and moved to Jerusalem to study filmmaking at the Maaleh Film School. Now in his third year of his four-year, full-time studies, he works as a cinematographer, producer, director, and screenwriter.
It took me a long time to realize – I want to express myself through art. My low self-esteem made me run away from this truth time after time. Even working on the set of other student films, I didn’t think – one day I would be telling “my” story and have it out there for people to watch. Every minute on the set of this film was a magical moment, where everyone gave their heart and soul and a little bit more for this to become my reality.
