Decode Me

Director: Sharon Sibyl Gatt
Narrative Short
Drama, Fantasy | Malta, United Kingdom | 14 min

Jane is a 30-year-old programmer stuck in a long coding session, isolated in her bedroom and lost in her thoughts. When her close friend Elizabeth starts asking questions, Jane brushes them off at first, not realizing Elizabeth is trying to understand what’s really going on. As they talk, Jane realizes she isn’t looking for a solution, but acceptance, and that facing the truth is the key to moving forward. We’re autistic, and we’re here. It’s time to move past the fear-mongering and show what autism really looks like, especially from the perspective of underrepresented women.
