Director’s bio:

Kurt St. Thomas is an accomplished filmmaker, author, and disc jockey with a distinguished career. As the program director at the iconic WFNX in Boston during the rise of Alternative and Grunge music in the 1990s, he played a pivotal role in promoting the era’s biggest acts. After a successful tenure at WFNX, he was recruited by Clive Davis to select Alternative bands for Arista Records.

In 2004, St. Thomas published “Nirvana: The Chosen Rejects” through St. Martin’s Press, offering a unique perspective on Kurt Cobain and the band’s journey. Around the same time, he debuted his film “Captive Audience,” which earned the Board of Directors Award at the Nashville Film Festival. He later spent a decade as an on-air talent at The World Famous KROQ in Los Angeles while directing music videos for renowned artists like Brand New, J Mascis, Kathleen Edwards, and Reel Big Fish.

In 2009, he launched Houndstooth Radio, a premier internet radio station broadcasting from his home. His latest feature, “D.O.A.,” has garnered over 30 awards and is now available on major streaming platforms. Additionally, his short film “Magnet Brain,” created for the Baltimore 48 Hour Film Project, won Best Film along with eight other awards. Kurt resides in Wilmington, Delaware, with his wife Liz, their dog Edie, and two cats, Frank and Drucilla.
