Ali Day, the greatest ironman of all time, aims for his tenth title but his body is older and a field of competitors are desperate to beat him, including the young gun Conner Maggs. Lana Rogers is the reigning women’s champion, but can she conquer the fear of collapsing as she did in the 2021 race, to win a third time?
Chasing the Gold captures an iconic Aussie culture with an intimate portrayal what it takes to be a heroic person, as well as, a winner of The Gold.

With a passion for compelling stories and beautiful imagery,
Wes’s documentary work has spanned across sport, arts and
social issues, through short films, TV programming and feature
documentaries.
As a Director his observational style is particular sensitive to
exploring the human experience and being present to the
evolving story of a film’s characters.
As an accomplished DP, Wes’s eye for visual storytelling,
combines with his experience in post and finishing, ensuring he
knows how to best capture the right images and maximise
production values. Specialties also include water, aerial drone,
gimbal and macro photography.
With a breath of Producer experience across a range of genres
and budgets, Wes can self-produce as a solo operator but also
work well in a team across larger productions.
