Batel, an Orthodox, sheltered young woman doing her National Service as an assistant at a girl’s high school, volunteers to supervise Noya, one of its most troubled students, on a school trip. Noya, who is already principal’s bad books for disruptive behavior, has no choice but to agree. Neither Batel nor Noya has the slightest idea of what they have let themselves in for.

After volunteering for two years’ National Service, Rinat Mazuz completed four years’ full time study at the Maaleh Film School. Her second-year film, “Broken Mirror,” was screened at a number of festivals worldwide. “Volunteer” is her graduation film.
