Before beginning his studies at film school, Netanel Fish won a national competition for high school filmmaking with his documentary, “A Different Journey.” He is now in his fourth and final year of full-time study at the Maaleh Film School and is at present in pre-production for his graduating film. His entry into JSFF – “The Boy Who Cried Fox” is his third-year film. In addition to his film studies, Netanel is also completing a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Communications.
The film deals with social relationships during adolescence, important years in the shaping of a boy’s personality.
The film’s story is derived from my childhood, growing up, when my decision to become a leader rather than a follower was a big part of my development. I’m hoping this film will encourage children who are being bullied or humiliated to change their relationship with themselves, and with their peer group.
