Mike is alone on the South Jersey shore in the off-season, trying to get through the days in a quiet, empty beach town. He needs a connection, and when he finally finds one in Carmen, it feels real. But over the course of one night, trying to help her pushes him right up against everything he’s been trying to hold together.

Director’s bio:

Taylor Gregory is a playwright stepping behind the camera for the first time—an experiment in translating stage instincts to screen. Made with a young, first-time crew on a minimal budget, slack tide is a fast, guerrilla production about a place often misrepresented. Where MTV’s Jersey Shore made it loud and tragic, we found something quieter, stranger, and more honest—especially in the off-season, where the real story lives.
