Dr. James Parker, an eccentric genius, has been embezzling money from a number of financial institutions. Once a fugitive, he is now in custody of the FBI, but no one has ever been able to find the stolen money. Parker left clues to the location of the hidden treasure, but the clues are nearly impossible to decipher. Suspected of having accomplices in perpetrating his plan, Parker sits alone in a federal prison serving out his sentence.
A case of mistaken identity ensues when a pair of thugs accuse two acquaintances of being Parker's former accomplices and force them to find the hidden money for them. The two estranged friends have no idea who Parker might be, but with no other options they are forced to cooperate. As they begin to piece together Parker's clues, bringing them closer to finding the hidden stash, the thugs become even more convinced that these two friends know more than they're letting on...
